All manuscripts submitted to Agricultural Technology Management (ATM) will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process, which aims to maintain the high quality of the papers published in the Journal and to ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the research work reports.

1. All submissions are first processed by the managing editor, who will check the manuscript for plagiarism, and if any possibility of plagiarism, the managing editor will reject the manuscript at this stage.
2. Once the plagiarism check is complete and the results are satisfactory, the managing editor sends the manuscript to the Editor-in-Chief, who conducts the peer review process, and sometimes to one of the deputy editors.
3. At least 2 reviewers will be selected based on their expertise. Reviewers must submit their comments and suggestions (Accept, Minor revisions, Major revisions, or Reject) to the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor to make a final decision on the paper, and the comments will help the authors improve their papers.
4. Based on the suggestions of the reviewers, the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor may make the final decision on the manuscript and inform the author of their decision to the authors to improve their research or paper.
  • If the decision is Accept (the author does not need to revise it), the manuscript will go to the editing stage.
  • If the decision is Minor revisions, the author has up to 2 weeks to revise and resubmit the article.
  • If the decision is Major revisions, the author has up to 4 weeks to revise and resubmit the article for a second round of review.
  • If the decision is Reject, the author will be notified, the rejected manuscript will be archived, and the peer review process will be concluded.
5. Accepted papers will be sent for copy editing, layout editing and proofreading prior to publication. In order to improve the language and/or appearance of the manuscript, communication between the author and editor is required here. After the editing phase is complete, the author needs to check the final version of the PDF file before publishing the article. The publisher of Universe Scientific Publishing registers the DOI for the manuscript after publication, and the public can access the article immediately.
6. Authors may appeal against a rejected submission. Appeals must be sent in writing to nykjgl@usp-pl.com with a detailed reason for the appeal and a point-by-point response to the reviewer's comments. The appeal decision is final and will not be considered further.

Conflict of Interest

Conflict of Interest (CoI) may exist when a professional judgment about a primary interest is likely to be influenced by a secondary interest (e.g., financial gain). It's important to note that even the perception of a conflict of interest is just as important as the actual conflict of interest.

Before an article can be reviewed and accepted for publication, a statement of iCoI must be received from all authors.

For authors:

During submission, authors must list all conflicts of interest related to the work, include but are not limited to:

  • Source of funds.
  • The sponsor's role in design, data collection, and analysis of results.
  • Whether the author serves on the Editorial Board of the Journa.

Editors and reviewers must declare any possible conflicts of interest related to the manuscript and, if necessary, they must avoid the peer review process. When Editorial Board members publish articles in the journals they serve, the editorial office actively emphasizes that the authors are aware that they have sidestepped the potential peer review process.

Common reasons for changing editors and reviewers include, but are not limited to:

  • The editor or reviewer works in the same organization as one of the authors.
  • The editor or reviewer is one of the authors of the work.
  • The editor or reviewer is on the author's recusal list.

Allow authors to publish their original, non-peer-reviewed research manuscripts to community Preprint servers, such as bioRxiv, medRxiv, and PeerJ Preprint, before or at the same time as they are formally submitted to the journal. During the submission process, authors are obliged to state in the cover letter whether the corresponding preprint version of their submission has been deposited on the preprint server and provide any relevant numbers or DOI.

Nevertheless, authors may not publish on the preprint server any Chinese version of an article that has been peer-reviewed, accepted for publication, or published in a journal. Manuscripts whose corresponding preprint version has been indexed will not be considered.

This policy applies only to original research papers. The Journal reserves the right not to consider publishing or to publish data that has been officially published on digital media, which should not be construed as a preprint server.

We encourage official references to preprints in reference lists where appropriate.

Authorship

Authorship

Authors of academic papers should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to their intellectual content. Participation in the fundraising or general supervision of research groups alone is not sufficient to gain authorship. It should be the responsibility of all authors to fairly assess their respective roles and the roles of their co-authors in the project. This is to ensure that authorship is established according to fixed criteria in all publications that list them as authors.

In order to be listed as the author of a paper, one should have contributed enough to the project. Co-authors should have contributed to some component of the paper or been involved in the interpretation of its results. A maximum of two corresponding authors are allowed to assume related responsibilities. In addition to reviewing the final manuscript prior to submission, all authors should have an agreement in the final approval of the published version.

Individuals who do not meet the above requirements, but have made a valuable contribution to the work, can be thanked in the acknowledgements section.

Authorship change

Authors should carefully check the list of authors and the order of authors before submitting. The editorial board considers the list of authors to be definitive during the original submission.

Any addition, removal or rearrangement of authors' names in the author list can only be made before the manuscript is accepted for publication. Corresponding authors should provide the Editorial Office with reasons for the change in the author list and written confirmation that all authors (including existing authors, proposed authors) agree to the change.

Authorship change requests need to be approved by the Editorial Office before any changes can be made.

Errata and Withdrawal Policy

Universe Scientific Publishing

Errata

All publisher-introduced changes are highlighted to the author at the proof stage and any errors are ideally identified by the author and corrected by the publisher before final publication. Any errors in published articles discovered by readers, authors, editors, etc., please contact the journal editor. Universe Scientific Publishing will only instigate a corrigendum to a published article after receiving approval and instructions from the editor.

Withdraw

If authors change their minds and decide not to proceed with publication in the journal, they must write to our editor, at nykjgl@usp-pl.com, explaining the reasons for the withdrawal. Author-initiated submissions must be withdrawn with the consent of all co-authors. The decision to withdraw a submission will ultimately rest with the editor, including the Editor-in-Chief.

It is relatively more difficult to withdraw a paper that has been processed for peer-review or is under peer-review compared to withdrawing a new submission because the editors and reviewers have expended much time and energy in editorial process and manuscript evaluation, respectively. To withdraw a paper that has been processed for peer-review, authors should clearly argue their case on scientific reasons; only valid and sound reasons will be accepted. He/she would be required to pay a penalty fee (USD 200). Authors are advised to keep in mind that an article should only be withdrawn if the authors detect significant errors or flaws, as it is not an acceptable practice to withdraw an article after it has been sent for peer review. Once the approval of submission withdrawal is granted, the submission will be removed from the journal’s online submission system, and a confirmation email of submission withdrawal will be sent to the authors. The withdrawal process is considered to be complete once the author receives a confirmation of withdrawal from the Journal Editorial Office.

Submission withdrawal is also possible for accepted papers that have not been formally published, including the newly accepted papers and Articles in Press.

Withdrawal of an accepted paper and Article in Press is usually editor-initiated. The reasons of withdrawing accepted papers and Articles in Press are similar to those of retracting a published article, i.e., academic misconducts and ethical violations in research and publication regardless of the severity of these issues. The misconducts and violations include plagiarism, falsification of research, data fabrication, submitting manuscripts of others as one’s own, submission of same manuscript to different publication venues at the same time and breaching intellectual property rights. Once the suspected misconduct and ethical violation is brought to our attention, the editors will organize an investigation and authors are required to cooperate in the investigation; any accepted papers or Articles in Press subject to investigation at this stage will not be arranged for article production or finalization. A Panel will be organized to investigate the allegations. If the allegations are proven true with supporting evidence, the accepted paper or Article in Press will be marked for withdrawal, and a notification email regarding the Panel’s Decision will be sent to all authors of the work. Any appeals regarding the Panel’s Decision will have to be made to the journal within 14 days of the decision date. In the absence of an appeal from the authors within the 14 days, the submission will be removed from the journal’s online submission system, and a confirmation email of submission withdrawal will be sent to the authors.

Authors should note that any amounts of paid Article Processing Charge will not be refunded if their accepted papers or Articles in Press are withdrawn on the grounds of academic misconducts and ethical violations in research and publication.
